Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit down and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. -Deuteronomy 6:5-8 At Wabash Friends Church our prayer is that every child who crosses our path will experience God's love in a life changing way, and that they will come to love God with all their heart and with all their soul and with all their strength. We believe the spiritual formation of children is best led by their parents. It is our desire to do everything that we can to support, encourage, equip and partner with parents as you help your children become growing followers of Christ. Our programs for children are designed to be relational, led by men and women who are committed to investing in the lives of your children and getting to know your family so we can pray for you and walk with you in your faith journey. Children from two years old through sixth grade will be using FaithWeaver curriculum from Group Publishing. Each week, kids of all ages will be learning the same Bible lesson in age appropriate ways. Every Bible story has principles that can be taught and understood at different levels by kids of different ages. For example, in the story of the prodigal son, a toddler might simply hear that God loves them while a 6th grader might be exploring and understanding God's forgiveness. The lesson themes will be the same during Sunday School and Worship hours with different activities and methods of presentation. Research proves the greatest influences on faith development are the conversations that take place in the home with parents. So FaithWeaver provides experiences and resources for equipping parents to continue talking about and applying the Bible lessons at home each week with the Student Activity Page and the Home Connect Page.
