Why spend a week, and your (or your parents’) hard earned money at Quaker Haven this summer?  Well, I’m glad you asked…because I want to tell you!

First, because your friends are going!  Twenty-three students from our Youth Program went to one of the three Teen Camps last year (Jr. Hi, Sr. Hi1, Sr. Hi2).  And not only are your friends from Wabash there, but friends from all over Indiana, Ohio and Michigan are there too.  And you might say, “But, Pat…I’ve never been to camp, so I don’t have any friends there yet.”  Well, I’m a living example that it doesn’t take long, once you arrive on camp, to make new friends with those you may not have met yet.  In fact, I still have contact with some friends I met more than 20 years ago at camp (Wow…that must mean I’m old).

The second reason to come is that…there is no other way to say this…you will have a BLAST!!!!!  As someone who has been a part of the team to put these camps together for the past 12 years, I have an idea of what you guys would like to spend your week doing.  And I’m not the only one…Nick Embry, Aaron Hughs, and Katy Palmer are also on that team (if these names don’t mean anything to you now…they will!).  We have been working for the better part of a year to ensure that you will have a wonderful time at a week of camp.

Lastly, and I think most importantly, these weeks are designed to give you the opportunity to encounter a God who loves you, hears you, sees you and knows you.  Camp is an intentional time to be away.  We get away from the norm.  We get away from some of those things that bring us down.  We get away from the routines that we so easily fall into, and we have time to simply listen, play, sing, pray, worship, and soak in all that God has to offer.

I hope you are planning on going.  Please contact me (Pat) or Michael if you have questions.  Here are the dates:
Jr. Hi (going into 7th – 8th  grades) – June13-18
Sr. Hi 1 (going into 9th grade – Graduated Seniors) – June 20-25
Sr. Hi 2 (going into 9th grade – Graduated Seniors) – July 11-16

Remember:
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:6 (Theme verse for Camp this summer)
